- Dec 07, 2012 The auto-recognize feature of the Charge 3 with Fitbit app has become basically unreliable and useless since about 12 April 2019 period of updates. Fitbit support is useless, in they consistent and singly advise 'restarting' the devices, meanwhile retitling complaints on the support forum to remove references to buggy software/firmware.
- Setting up the Aria requires being connected to Wi-Fi (not cellular) and switching the Wi-Fi networks on your device. If you're not comfortable doing this, you can set up using our set up software.

Before you begin
Set your scale on a hard floor (not carpet) near your internet router to ensure it can detect your Wi-Fi network.
If you have an ethernet cable plugged into your computer, unplug it.
Get your home’s Wi-Fi network password ready since you’ll need to enter it during set up.

Fitbit’s set up software will enable your scale to connect and sync on your home’s wireless network. You will use this software anytime you move or need to change your scale’s Wi-Fi network in the future.
If you're using a smart phone now, or don't want to download the set up tool, use the web based set up
Tap the Song Sections button (the “+” at top right of the screen). Tap Section A and turn Automatic on (this will allow GarageBand to accommodate the length of the file you’re importing. Tap the Tracks View button. Garageband will not open on ipad screen.
If you see this, don't panic!

Mac OS X Snow Leopard inaccurately recognizes the Fitbit base station as a 'network interface.' You don't have to do anything to your Network Preferences, though.
Just click Cancel.
